Yediyurappa Blasts Congress On 'Chombu' Criticism

The Congress and BJP in Karnataka clashed over a Congress advertisement mocking the BJP. The ad featured a pot, known as 'Chombu' in Kannada, symbolizing deception.

Congress accused the Modi government of failing to fulfill promises to Karnataka, offering only a 'Chombu'.

BJP retaliated, blaming Congress for water scarcity in Bengaluru and alleging mismanagement. They accused Congress of diverting funds meant for farmers and marginalized communities.

Congress urged voters to reject BJP's 'Chombu' contribution, highlighting dissatisfaction with BJP and JD(S) MPs.

BJP criticized Congress for neglecting Karnataka's interests and misusing resources. The spat reflects broader political tensions ahead of elections, with both parties seeking to discredit the other's record.

The tweet of BJP's Vijayendra Yediyurappa goes like this:

"Congressmen, Leave water to Tamil Nadu,

You are the one who drained the 'full bowl' of Kaveri Mata and gave an empty cup to the Kannadigas.

You are the one who dried the crops and gave the farmers a mug.

You are the one who exhausted all the available money and transferred the money earmarked for the welfare of scheduled/backward people and gave a cup to the oppressed.

You are the ones who have made women wander around with empty bins without even providing drinking water.

You are the one who gave an empty mug to the unemployed in the name of youth fund.

In a few days, people will give you a hand that is not seen in the country 'Empty cup'"

Parliamentary polls will be held in two phases in Karnataka on 26 April and 7 May.
