In towns and cities, people gathering at tea shops are discussing the alleged large-scale vote theft. Similarly, in villages at public meeting spots and tea stalls, there is talk about the allegations Rahul Gandhi recently revealed. In a press conference held in Delhi, Rahul Gandhi strongly criticized the conduct of the Election Commission of India (ECI).
His main accusation was that the ECI was involved in vote theft to benefit the BJP. He also alleged that when they asked for digital voting data and CCTV footage, the Commission flatly refused. Rahul pointed out cases in various states where a single person was registered to vote in multiple locations across the country. He also exposed instances where a large number of votes were registered to a single-bedroom house, which drew widespread attention.
Furthermore, he claimed that over one lakh votes were stolen in Mahadevapura Assembly Constituency under Bengaluru Central parliamentary limits. These revelations have sparked widespread public debate. Before and after his statements, there has been a noticeable change in public perception of both Rahul and the BJP.
The credibility of the Election Commission, he argued, has hit rock bottom. People are now saying that under such circumstances, the BJP and its allies could keep winning repeatedly. Rahul’s approach of presenting evidence along with his accusations is both drawing attention and making people think. If the ECI fails to address these doubts, it could face severe public backlash in the future.
