Terror Attack in Kashmir: Around 26 Tourists Feared Dead

Jammu and Kashmir has once again been drenched in blood. Terrorists have unleashed violence again. On Tuesday afternoon, near Pahalgam town in Anantnag district, they targeted a group of tourists. The attack occurred in Baisaran, famously known as “Mini Switzerland,” where the terrorists indiscriminately opened fire on tourists.

Indiscriminate Shooting

The attack occurred while some tourists were at food stalls, some were on horseback, and others were enjoying the scenic beauty of the grasslands. Suddenly, armed terrorists emerged from the nearby forest and began firing indiscriminately. They spared women and children, shooting only at men, according to eyewitnesses. Despite women pleading for mercy, the terrorists showed no sympathy. One terrorist reportedly said, “He is not a Muslim, shoot him.” Disturbing visuals of grieving women begging for help after losing their loved ones went viral on social media. Since the location is only accessible via ponies or trekking, military helicopters were deployed to transport the injured. Officials evacuated other tourists under tight security.

"Go Tell Modi"

Among the victims was a real estate businessman from Shivamogga, Karnataka, named Manjunath Rao, who had traveled with his wife and young son to Baisaran for vacation. While he was resting, terrorists shot and killed him. His wife Pallavi, an eyewitness, narrated the terrifying ordeal: “We were in Pahalgam around 1:30 PM when three or four armed men attacked us. They shot my husband dead. I begged them to kill me too, but one of them said, ‘We won't kill you. Go and tell Modi.’”

"Please Save My Husband"

The green grasslands near Baisaran turned into pools of blood. Videos showing dead bodies lying in blood and women crying beside them shook social media. One woman was seen helplessly pleading for someone to save her husband, who was shot in the head. Another said a gunman shot her husband while she was eating bhel puri. She also heard a terrorist say, “He is not a Muslim, shoot him.” In another video, a wounded woman tries to wake her injured husband, pleading for help.
