A shocking incident took place in the Supreme Court of India on Monday. A lawyer allegedly attempted to attack the Chief Justice of India (CJI), Justice B.R. Gavai, by trying to throw a shoe at him during court proceedings.
The incident occurred during the hearing of a case in the morning session. According to reports, the lawyer approached the dais and suddenly took off his shoe, attempting to hurl it at the CJI. Security personnel immediately intervened, restrained the lawyer, and escorted him out of the courtroom before handing him over to the police.
Eyewitnesses said the lawyer shouted, “We will not tolerate the insult to Sanatan Dharma,” before being taken away. The sudden outburst caused chaos and confusion inside the courtroom.
CJI Gavai, however, remained calm and stated that the incident would not affect him. He instructed the other lawyers to continue with their arguments as usual.
