Raja Raghuvanshi and Sonam were married on May 11 in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. According to Raja’s brother Sachin, everything seemed normal at the time of the wedding. He said that Sonam had even gone shopping with her family before the wedding and there were no signs of suspicion. The couple went to Meghalaya for their honeymoon on May 20, but went missing from May 23. Tragically, Raja’s body was discovered on June 2 and was identified through a tattoo. Sachin expressed the family's deep concern and demanded to know why Raja was killed and who was behind it, especially since Sonam was found alive.
Case Breakthrough Through Tourist Guide's Info
Based on information from a tourist guide, police intensified the search. The guide claimed to have seen Raja and Sonam with three unidentified men. This led police to believe something suspicious was going on. Reports suggest that Sonam, under immense pressure after learning the police were closing in, collapsed near a dhaba in Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh. She was taken to a medical college for treatment and later surrendered to the police. Meghalaya police took her into custody and arrested three others along with her. Authorities are still searching for Sonam’s alleged lover.
Murder Conspiracy Linked to Sonam and Her Lover
According to police, Sonam was allegedly in a relationship with a man named Raj Kushwaha. They claim she plotted her husband’s murder with Raj and hired contract killers. These killers were brought from Madhya Pradesh under the guise of a honeymoon trip. A tourist guide confirmed seeing the couple with the three unknown individuals, which helped police piece the conspiracy together. While Sonam and the alleged killers have been arrested, Raj Kushwaha is on the run and being hunted by the police.
Grim Details of the Incident
Raja and Sonam reportedly rented a scooter and traveled around the East Khasi Hills in Meghalaya. The couple went missing on May 23. After repeated failed calls, the family filed a police complaint. On June 2, Raja’s body was found in the hills with signs of foul play. At the time, Sonam was also presumed dead, especially after her blood-stained raincoat was found. However, the case took a dramatic turn when she was found alive in Uttar Pradesh, ending 16 days of suspense.
Father’s Denial and Demand for CBI Probe
Sonam’s father, Devi Singh, strongly denied the allegations against his daughter, claiming the Meghalaya police fabricated stories. He demanded a CBI inquiry and stated that his daughter is innocent. He said that the marriage was consensual and questioned the motive behind such an act. Devi Singh insisted that if an independent investigation is held, the truth will come out and action might have to be taken against the Meghalaya police themselves.
This high-profile murder case continues to unfold with multiple angles, emotional appeals, and nationwide attention.
