The national capital Delhi witnessed tense moments following protests launched by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP). Condemning attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh, VHP activists and representatives of other Hindu organizations staged a protest outside the Bangladesh High Commission in Delhi.
The protesters attempted to push past barricades and enter the High Commission premises, leading to police intervention. This resulted in heated arguments and scuffles between the police and demonstrators. As time passed, the number of protesters increased, further escalating the situation.
Slogans were raised against the attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh. Hindu organizations demanded strict punishment for those responsible for the killing of Chandradas. Protesters also called for stopping economic aid to Bangladesh.
They urged the Modi government to take steps to prevent atrocities against Hindus in Bangladesh. Some demonstrators raised slogans warning against repeating the mistakes of 1971 and even demanded that Bangladesh be merged with India.
The demand by VHP and other Hindu organizations to launch Operation Sindoor-2 against Bangladesh has become a major talking point. Similar protests were also held in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, where Bajrang Dal leaders demonstrated against attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh.
