The central government has announced the dates for the Parliament’s monsoon session. The monsoon session will be held from July 21 to August 12. The government stated that there will be a discussion on Operation Sindhur in accordance with the rules. The opposition alliance MPs, in a meeting held on Tuesday (June 3), also demanded a debate on Operation Sindhur in Parliament. MPs have even written a letter to Prime Minister Modi on this issue.
The government’s strategy for the upcoming Parliament monsoon session is becoming clear. Opposition parties are repeatedly demanding that the facts regarding Operation Sindhur be revealed during the session. The government has clarified that it will answer all questions raised by the opposition during the Parliament sessions. There has already been a war of words between BJP and Congress over Operation Sindhur. Apart from Operation Sindhur, the opposition is demanding details on the ceasefire with Pakistan.
In this context, Union Minister Kiran Rijiju announced on Wednesday that the upcoming Parliament monsoon session will be held from July 21 to August 12, 2025. Since this will be the first Parliament session after Operation Sindhur, it is being considered very important. Rijiju said the dates were decided at the Parliamentary Affairs Cabinet Committee meeting chaired by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. The session will include several important legislative works, as well as opportunities to discuss questions raised by the opposition.
Opposition parties are demanding a detailed discussion in Parliament on recent terrorist incidents in Jammu and Kashmir and on Operation Sindhur. In such a scenario, the Minister of Parliamentary Affairs’ announcement is seen as a political signal that the government will not back down from debating this issue. Being the first Parliament session after Operation Sindhur, many sensitive topics related to national security, border safety, and terrorism are expected to be raised. Heated debates between the government and opposition are likely in this session.
