Jyoti Malhotra, a travel blogger from Hisar, has been arrested for allegedly spying for Pakistan and sharing sensitive information with its intelligence operatives. Based on intelligence inputs, she was taken into custody on Saturday.
According to SP Shashank Kumar Sawan, Jyoti’s travel to Pakistan and China did not align with her declared income. She reportedly maintained frequent contact with Pakistani Intelligence Operatives (PIOs), including Ehsan-ur-Rahim alias Danish from the Pakistan High Commission, who introduced her to others like Shakir and Rana Shahbaz.
Investigators believe she was being developed as an intelligence asset and was in touch with other influencers suspected of similar connections. In 2023, she visited Pakistan twice, reportedly on sponsored trips arranged by Ali Ehwan, and also travelled to Bali with a PIO.
She has been remanded to five days of police custody as officials probe her financial records and communication history. The investigation continues.
