MH Govt Revokes State Guest Status of Avimukteshwaranand

The Maharashtra government has revoked the state guest status granted to seer Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati, citing recent controversies and political remarks.

Avimukteshwaranand, known for his outspoken criticism of the BJP, recently stirred controversy by mocking the Modi government, saying, "A cow should have been taken to the new Parliament building during its inauguration." The remark drew sharp criticism from BJP supporters.

Adding to the controversy, Govindanand Saraswati has accused Avimukteshwaranand of involvement in a Rs 363 crore financial fraud. The allegations are currently under scrutiny.

The state government’s decision is being seen in political circles as a response to the seer’s repeated anti-BJP statements and the emerging legal issues.
