Major Air Mishap Averted in India

A major aviation disaster was narrowly averted in India after a wheel of a flight arriving from Saudi Arabia caught fire during landing.

The incident involved Saudia Airlines flight SV 3112, which was carrying around 250 Hajj pilgrims. The flight had departed from Jeddah at 10:45 PM on Saturday and landed at Lucknow Airport, Uttar Pradesh, at around 6:30 AM on Sunday.

Immediately after landing, flames and smoke were seen coming from the aircraft’s left wheel. The alert pilot quickly informed Air Traffic Control (ATC), and emergency teams rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and all passengers breathed a sigh of relief. Preliminary reports suggest that the fire was caused due to overheating following a hydraulic leak.

The incident caused panic among other passengers at the airport. Notably, this comes just days after another aviation tragedy involving an Air India Dreamliner, which crashed in Ahmedabad shortly after take-off en route to London. The aircraft reportedly crashed into a building, resulting in the tragic loss of over 270 lives. The entire nation continues to mourn that devastating accident.
