How Did the Sole Survivor Escape the Deadly Plane Crash?

The only survivor of a horrific plane crash has been identified as 39-year-old British national of Indian origin, Vishwas Kumar Ramesh. Defying all odds, he managed to walk on his own and board an ambulance after the crash — earning the title "miracle man" among rescuers. Out of the 242 people on board, 241 tragically lost their lives, their bodies charred beyond recognition.

The crash was devastating: the aircraft exploded on impact, crashing into a large building and engulfing the area in thick smoke. Witnesses and rescue officials believed no one could have survived such a situation. Among those taken to the hospital were mostly medical college students and staff. In this grim scenario, Vishwas surviving with only minor injuries left everyone stunned.

Vishwas, who was traveling from Ahmedabad to London, was seated in 11A — a window seat on the left side in the economy section of the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner. This seat is not an emergency exit seat; emergency exits on this aircraft are typically located near row 19, where the over-wing exits are — seats 19A and 19K.

Based on the aircraft’s 2-3-2 configuration in economy class, 11A is located toward the front of the plane, slightly ahead of the wings. This means he would have had to move at least 6 to 8 meters to reach the nearest emergency exit, which raises questions about how he managed to escape so quickly. Some reports speculate that he might have known the cabin layout well enough to navigate his way out swiftly right after the crash — but this remains unconfirmed.

Vishwas later recalled that when he stood up after the crash, he found dead bodies around him, which terrified him and prompted him to run. He is currently being treated at a hospital. He had traveled to India to visit his family in Gujarat, and the crash occurred during his return journey to the UK. Tragically, his brother, who was also on the flight, did not survive.
