Until now, whenever someone needed information online, opening Google Search was the obvious go-to. With nearly 90% of the global market share, Google processes over 8.5 billion searches every day, providing users with relevant web links in response to their queries.
However, with the rise of AI tools like ChatGPT, Google too has stepped into the Artificial Intelligence space. The company has now integrated AI into its search engine with a new feature called Google Search AI Mode.
After a successful rollout in the United States, this AI-powered search experience is now available in India. Users can access it directly via mobile or the web—no sign-up required. Unlike the traditional search experience that only displayed web links, this new AI mode provides direct answers to complex queries in a conversational format.
This enhanced functionality is powered by Google’s Gemini model, specifically the Gemini 2.5 version. It allows users to ask any kind of question directly, and receive comprehensive answers instantly. Whether it’s a basic query or something more nuanced, the AI is designed to understand and respond intelligently.
Currently, the service is available only in English, but Google has announced plans to soon expand support to Telugu and other regional Indian languages, making the AI experience more inclusive for users across the country.
