The suspense over who will lead Team India in the upcoming Test series against England has finally ended. As widely speculated, Shubman Gill has been appointed as the 37th Test captain of the Indian cricket team. The BCCI made this announcement following a senior selection committee meeting held in Mumbai. Rishabh Pant has been named as the vice-captain.
The BCCI also announced the full squad for the five-match Test series in England. The 18-member team includes:
Shubman Gill (Captain), Rishabh Pant (Vice-Captain), Yashasvi Jaiswal, KL Rahul, Sai Sudharsan, Abhimanyu Easwaran, Karun Nair, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Ravindra Jadeja, Dhruv Jurel, Washington Sundar, Shardul Thakur, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna, Akash Deep, Arshdeep Singh, and Kuldeep Yadav.
The selection was finalized by the panel headed by Ajit Agarkar along with BCCI secretary Debajit Saikia. The Test series will begin on June 20 at Headingley, England.
