EC Releases Deleted Voters List

In Bihar, as part of the voter list revision (Bihar SIR), the names of 65 lakh voters were removed, a fact already known. Today, the Election Commission of India released the details of those deleted voters.

This disclosure comes in compliance with Supreme Court directions, which had instructed the EC to publish the deleted voters’ list by August 19. The Court also ordered that a detailed report be submitted by August 22.

The revised voter list includes categories such as Absent, Shifted, and Dead (ASD) voters. Bihar’s Chief Electoral Officer stated that the ASD list has been displayed at polling booths in Rohtas, Begusarai, and Arwal districts.
