Fresh violence has erupted in neighboring Bangladesh. Protesters turned violent following the death of Sharif Usman bin Hadi (Osman Hadi), a representative of the cultural organization Inquilab Manch, who was injured in firing. Demonstrations spread across Dhaka and several other cities, with protesters taking to the streets and causing large-scale destruction.
Government and private offices, as well as media establishments, were attacked and vandalized. Protesters also raised slogans against India and the Awami League. In view of the tense situation, India has gone on alert.
The Indian High Commission in Bangladesh has issued an important advisory for Indian nationals living in the country. Indians, including Indian students, have been urged to remain cautious, avoid unnecessary travel, and stay indoors unless absolutely necessary. For any assistance, they have been advised to contact the High Commission or Assistant High Commission offices. The advisory was shared through social media.
