A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel, Moti Ram Jat, was arrested by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in Delhi on May 21, accused of spying for Pakistan.
He reportedly shared sensitive national security details with Pakistani intelligence officers since 2023. The NIA stated that Jat was involved in espionage and received money from Pakistan through intermediaries. Following his arrest, he was dismissed from service and sent to NIA custody until June 6 by the Patiala House Court.
Jat’s suspicious activities were uncovered during a joint monitoring of his social media by CRPF and central agencies. It was found he had violated several service protocols. Based on this evidence, his service was officially terminated on May 21 under relevant constitutional provisions and CRPF rules.
In a related case, YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra was arrested on May 17 for similar charges. She was allegedly honey-trapped by a Pakistani official and had made several foreign visits, including to Pakistan and China.
