For the first time in India, an all-women police security team will be deployed for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s event in Gujarat’s Navsari district on March 8, International Women’s Day. The initiative, announced by Minister of State for Home Harsh Sanghavi, aims to highlight women's role in law enforcement. Women police personnel, from IPS officers to constables, will manage security from the PM’s arrival to the event’s conclusion.
The security team includes over 2,100 constables, 187 sub-inspectors, 61 inspectors, 16 DSPs, five SPs, one IG, and one Additional DGP. Senior IPS officer and Home Secretary Nipuna Torawane will oversee the arrangements. The PM will address the 'Lakhpati Didi Sammelan' as part of his two-day visit to Gujarat and Dadra and Nagar Haveli.
This move showcases Gujarat’s commitment to women's empowerment and reinforces their role in maintaining safety and security.
