Korean Queen Heo Hwang-ok  statue in Ayodhya.

A bronze statue of Korean queen Heo Hwang-ok has been unveiled in Ayodhya. She was born in Ayodhya and was known as Princess Suriratna.

Around 48 AD, she travelled by sea to Korea to marry King Suro, the founder of the Gaya kingdom. She is believed to have played a significant role in introducing Indian culture and Buddhism to Korea.

Today, millions of people in South Korea belonging to the Karak clan consider Queen Heo Hwang-ok as their ancestor, highlighting the deep historical and cultural ties between India and Korea.
