After the Delhi bomb blasts, Al-Falah University has come under the national spotlight. It is widely reported that some doctors associated with this university had links to terrorism. Among those apprehended by investigative agencies, there is even a female doctor. One doctor was involved in the Delhi bomb blast itself, while another terrorist doctor has absconded.
Al-Falah is a private minority university. Now, the national media is closely scrutinizing the university and digging into its activities. An article in an English newspaper revealed shocking details: the founder and chancellor of the university, Jawad Ahmed Siddiqui, is a major corrupt figure—a poisonous tree.
Regarding the Delhi blast case, the university’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Bhupinder Kaur Anand, stated that the university has no links with the arrested suspects, that the blasts were completely unrelated to the institution, and that they strongly condemn the attacks.
She also mentioned that the university has been running various educational institutions since 1997 and is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC). Since 2019, the university has offered MBBS courses, and many graduates now work in leading hospitals. She clarified that two doctors who were taken into custody by investigative agencies worked only as faculty at the university, and they had no direct affiliation with the institution beyond that. She issued an official statement to this effect.
However, the chancellor, Jawad Ahmed Siddiqui, did not comment publicly, raising suspicions in the media. Northern media outlets began investigating further, and the real story came to light. OP India revealed that Siddiqui is a major corrupt figure. Not only that, he had spent three years in Tihar Jail along with his brother.
Jawad Siddiqui completed a B.Tech in Industrial and Product Design from Devi Ahilya University in Indore. His family later moved to Delhi. In 1993, he began working as a mechanical engineering lecturer at Jamia Millia Islamia, where he began planning his ambitions. While working as a lecturer, he founded the Al-Falah Group of Companies, which quickly expanded, launching multiple ventures. Siddiqui became the director of these companies and continued as the chancellor of the university. Students at the university regard him as a role model, and he gained popularity.
Together with his brother Saud, Siddiqui also established several small companies, including Al-Falah Investments, which promised high returns. Many people invested, but Siddiqui allegedly defrauded investors, taking all funds into personal accounts. In 2000, following a complaint by a man named K.R. Singh from New Friends Colony, Delhi, an FIR was filed. Delhi’s Crime Branch investigated and arrested Siddiqui. He served three years in jail along with his brother Saud. In March 2023, his bail application was rejected.
The Forensic Science Laboratory in Delhi found that the investments had been diverted to personal accounts. Eventually, he was granted bail in 2004, and in 2005, the Patiala Court acquitted him, after he assured the return of the investors’ money.
Additionally, some Hindu students studying at Al-Falah University were reportedly converted to Islam. Female students were made to wear hijabs and burqas. It became clear that the person running Al-Falah University, Jawad Ahmed Siddiqui, had previous prison experience and was involved in massive fraud, including constructing hundreds of flats and defrauding owners by withholding them. Some of the companies he established were eventually shut down.
The chancellor is a major corrupt figure with a criminal record, and the doctors trained in medical courses at this university have been linked to terrorism.
