Movie Gossip
Raja Saab, the upcoming film starring Prabhas and directed by Maruthi, is being produced by People Media Factory and is shaping up to be a full-fledged horror entertainer. It’s been a long time since a top-tier hero like Prabhas has done a light-hearted, entertaining film, and that itself is seen as one of the film’s biggest advantages.
While audiences in North India and non-Telugu-speaking regions are mostly familiar with Prabhas through his action-packed blockbusters, his earlier fun and entertaining films remain largely unknown to them. Raja Saab aims to change that by showcasing Prabhas in a completely entertaining avatar, with the added thrill of suspenseful sequences.
The film is heavy on CGI, and sources reveal that the visual effects are going to be a major highlight — especially during the climax. The pre-climax and climax portions together reportedly run for around 30 minutes, and this entire half-hour is said to be packed with extensive CGI work. Such a lengthy and VFX-heavy climax is quite rare in Indian cinema.
This rare feat in Raja Saab is expected to be a major highlight. Industry insiders suggest the imagination and execution of the CGI sequences are top-notch, and if they turn out as planned, the result could be comparable to Hollywood standards. To ensure quality, the VFX work has reportedly been entrusted to a key international studio.
The film is slated for release in the first week of December, and the teaser is expected to drop later this month. Needless to say, Prabhas fans are eagerly awaiting this return to a fun, yet visually spectacular, entertainer.
