Film Career Over.. She's Entering Politics?

Many film stars in India harbor political ambitions. Some enter politics after their film careers wind down, while others take a gamble by stepping into politics even during their peak. Only a few among them take politics seriously, and while some find success, others fail for various reasons. Even stars with massive fan followings have sometimes failed to make a mark in the political arena. There are countless such stories.

Now, coming to the latest buzz—actress Meena, who entered films as a child artist and later became a leading lady, is reportedly planning to enter politics. And it seems she may be joining the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Meena has had a long career spanning over four and a half decades, acting in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada films. In recent years, she has been seen mostly in supporting roles.

In 2022, Meena lost her husband, Vidyasagar, due to illness. Since then, she has been living with her daughter Nainika. There were even rumors about her second marriage, but none of them turned out to be true. Now, it appears that her focus has shifted toward politics. But is this decision entirely her own? Or is someone mentoring her into this path?

As you may know, Tamil Nadu is gearing up for Assembly elections next year. Political parties have already begun strategizing. The BJP has renewed its alliance with the AIADMK and is actively trying to strengthen its presence in the state by bringing in celebrities. Actress Khushbu is already with the BJP. Now, reports suggest that BJP leaders are keen on inducting Meena, a hugely popular senior actress in the South Indian film industry, as part of their larger strategy to boost the party’s image.

There’s talk that Meena recently visited Delhi and met Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, sparking speculation. She shared a photo of the meeting on social media, captioning it:

“It was an honor to meet you, Sir. I have learned a lot from you, and I believe your wisdom will help guide me in the future. Thank you for your time.”

This post has fueled rumors about her possible political entry. It is also speculated that Khushbu might be the person behind this move, given her current role in the BJP.
