Since the arrival of Artificial Intelligence (AI), society has witnessed significant changes. Many people with internet access have started using AI, and most agree that it has made human life much easier.
However, at the same time, AI is also turning some people into fraudsters. A recent study has revealed this concern. According to research published in the journal Nature, the number of people using AI for unethical or illegal purposes has increased from 25% to 40% within just a few months.
Although many organizations have added safety filters and ethical guidelines to AI systems, they work only to a limited extent. For instance, AI restricts responses to certain medical or criminal-related questions. Yet, in many other cases, it still provides answers quite easily.
Researchers noted that AI doesn’t always refuse to answer unethical questions such as “how to evade taxes,” “how to cheat on a partner,” or “how to shoplift secretly.” Most AI models behave similarly, with only minor differences, and continue to supply such information to users.
The study concludes that this trend is encouraging deceptive and unethical behavior among people, especially in financial activities where AI seems to indirectly promote fraudulent practices.
The research also highlights that AI systems are increasingly receiving unethical requests from users, which could further lead to immoral behavior.
In any case, AI has now deeply integrated into human life, and its expansion is inevitable. Experts suggest that individuals should restrict their use of AI to specific, productive areas — and avoid sharing personal details or seeking unethical advice through it.once did for us
