We all saw the impact the drugs case had on Tollywood — it shook the industry to its core. Many big names were caught up in the investigation. As the SIT (Special Investigation Team) probe progressed, celebrities lined up for questioning. Prominent names like Puri Jagannadh, Mumaith Khan, Rakul Preet Singh, Charmme, Tanish, Ravi Teja, Navdeep, and others were summoned.
The investigation is still ongoing and remains active. Now, it's Kollywood’s turn.
The issue of drug usage in the Tamil film industry isn’t new — it’s been a topic of discussion for quite some time. But the police hadn’t taken strong action until now, waiting for the right lead.
Finally, they’ve got it. The lead is Sriram, also known as Srikanth. After interrogating him, police arrested him on the same day.
During questioning, Sriram admitted to drug use and blamed an ex-AIADMK party worker named Prasad for introducing him to narcotics. He also revealed a few more names, one of which is Krishna.
Krishna is a small-time actor in Tollywood and is said to have close ties with Sriram. With Krishna's name now linked to the case, the investigation has taken a new turn. However, Krishna has denied the drug allegations, stating that he has been suffering from severe allergies since 2018 and has no chance of using drugs. He also submitted medical documents to support his claim.
Meanwhile, actor Vijay Antony added fuel to the fire with his remarks, saying that drug use in Kollywood is not new. He believes more shocking details will emerge through Sriram.
The Kollywood media is already going full throttle on this case. Some reports even suggest that a few actresses are also involved and that their names will be revealed soon.
At this rate, the drugs scandal could turn into a major storm for the entire Tamil film industry in the coming days.
