Padmashri Awardee Spends 1 Cr And Wants More

Darshanam Mogulaiah, also known as Kinnera Mogulaiah, who received the Padma Shri award in 2022, stated that he hasn't been getting his monthly pension of Rs 10,000 from the State government for the past five months, causing him financial difficulties.

He disputed the government's claim that they had deposited the March pension in his account, asserting he hadn't received anything.

The BRS government recognized his contributions as a tribal music artiste by granting him Rs one crore after he received the Padma Shri. 

He said that he used most of this money to buy a house and support his family including medical expenses for his diabetes and his son's seizures.

Although promised a 600 yard house site by the government, he hasn't received it yet despite multiple attempts.

Facing urgent medical expenses he sought help from police officers and received some money.

When his son needed hospitalization he received financial aid from a government advisor.

Mogulaiah has approached the Chief Minister, requesting the promised house site and prompt payment of his pension, which he receives for his lifetime due to his Padma Shri recognition.
