Controversies surrounding the teaser of Toxic, starring Yash, are increasing day by day. Several organisations have already staged protests, alleging that the teaser contains obscenity and is harmful to Indian society. Now, the issue has reached the Women’s Commission.
The Aam Aadmi Party has strongly objected to the alleged obscenity in the Toxic teaser and has filed a complaint with the Karnataka Women’s Commission. Acting on this complaint, the Commission has stepped in.
The Women’s Commission opined that the teaser could mislead children onto the wrong path and has written a letter to the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), urging it to take appropriate action against the teaser.
Several parties have alleged that the teaser was streamed without age-related warnings and that it goes against Kannada culture and traditions. Taking all these allegations into consideration, the Women’s Commission has sent the letter.
Toxic is Yash’s film after KGF-2. The film is directed by Geetu Mohandas. It is being released simultaneously in South Indian languages along with Hindi and English. Positioned as a summer attraction, the film is scheduled for release on March 19. Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, and Rukmini Vasanth are playing the female leads.
