Malayalam actor Shine Tom Chacko’s journey to Bengaluru for medical treatment turned into an unimaginable tragedy. In the early hours of Friday, around 6 AM, a lorry collided with their vehicle on the Salem-Bengaluru National Highway, resulting in the death of Shine’s father, C.P. Chacko. Shine and his mother sustained serious injuries in the accident and were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The accident comes as a devastating blow to Shine, who had often spoken about the support his father provided during the most difficult phases of his life. In past interviews, Shine admitted that his personal flaws had affected his family deeply, and he had been trying to turn over a new leaf. He had vowed to protect the peace and happiness of his parents going forward — a promise left unfulfilled by this sudden loss.
C.P. Chacko had stood by Shine through thick and thin, including during his arrest in the cocaine case and the later controversy involving hybrid marijuana. The father and son had even started a production company together, with Shine expressing hopes of producing several films under a new banner. Sadly, those dreams remain unrealized.
After Shine was acquitted in the cocaine case, his father had given an emotional interview, expressing relief and hope for a better future for his son. That future now looks painfully altered by this heartbreaking loss.
