Riteish Unveils Fierce Look As Shivaji

Actor Riteish Deshmukh is set to play the iconic role of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in his upcoming film Raja Shivaji. He also directs the project and recently revealed his intense first look through a motion poster. The image shows him as a blood-soaked warrior standing amid a fiery battlefield, holding swords in both hands. He called it a tribute to the legendary Maratha king.

The film boasts a star-studded cast including Abhishek Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt, Bhagyashree, Mahesh Manjrekar, Fardeen Khan, Sachin Khedekar, and Genelia D’Souza. Abhishek expressed his pride in being part of a cinematic homage to one of India’s greatest warrior kings. The movie’s music is composed by the well-known duo Ajay-Atul and will release on May 1, 2026, Maharashtra Day.

Earlier, filming was halted after a tragic accident where a dancer drowned in Satara. Production resumed after police investigations.
