Rajinikanth Steps Into the Indian 3 Controversy

Rajinikanth Steps Into the Indian 3 Controversy

Superstar Rajinikanth usually stays away from interfering in Kollywood's internal matters. However, he has now stepped in to mediate a major issue — one involving Indian 3. The big question is: did his intervention work?

Here’s the backstory.

After Indian 2 turned out to be an epic disaster, the prospects of Indian 3 were thrown into doubt. The third part was already in progress, but financial complications and unresolved settlements put the brakes on it.

At this critical juncture, a fresh dispute emerged. Given the heavy losses from Indian 2, the producers reportedly requested that the remaining portion of Indian 3 be completed for free. Director Shankar, however, is said to have refused this outright.

About 75-80% of Indian 3 has already been shot. To complete the rest, Shankar is reportedly demanding a remuneration of Rs 8 crores. This is unusual, as Shankar is not known for making such aggressive demands. It’s believed that his stance stems from past frustrations with the producers during the Indian 2 production, particularly after he moved on to work on Game Changer.

Eventually, the issue escalated and reached Rajinikanth.

Both the producers of Lyca Productions and Shankar share a close relationship with Rajinikanth — after all, the Robo (Enthiran) franchise belongs to them. So Rajini decided to intervene. He held talks with Shankar and also met Kamal Haasan. Reports suggest Kamal has already agreed to proceed.

With Rajinikanth stepping in, it looks like the issue has been resolved — or at least is heading towards resolution. When the Superstar takes charge, things usually fall into place.
