Has Nature Turned Against 'Kantara'?

Sometimes, things happen that are completely out of our control — beyond prediction, beyond logic. All we can do is watch in disbelief. That seems to be the case with the prequel of Kantara. Ever since the film began production, it’s been plagued by a string of misfortunes that show no signs of stopping.

Right from the start, the film ran into controversy when the forest area used for filming was allegedly cleared illegally, leading the government to take the matter to court — a case that is still ongoing. Since then, trouble has continued to follow Kantara Chapter 1 like a shadow.

A massive set constructed near a waterfall was recently destroyed by a sudden storm. At the same time, a boat carrying members of the film unit capsized in a river. Fortunately, no one was injured.

Earlier, a major road accident occurred involving junior artists from the team. In another tragic incident, an actor accidentally drowned. And most recently, a mimicry artist associated with the project died of a heart attack. The series of accidents and tragedies continues to haunt this prequel.

The original Kantara film explored the theme of divinity and earned widespread acclaim, especially for its powerful climax. Now, discussions are swirling on social media that maybe the divine force portrayed in the film is unhappy with the prequel being made.

Despite all these setbacks, actor-director Rishab Shetty remains undeterred. He is continuing with the project and is committed to releasing the film in October — no matter what.
