Disha Patani Reveals Came to Mumbai with Just Rs 500

It’s often said that nepotism makes the journey into the film industry easier — with connections and setups already in place. But for outsiders, especially those with financial struggles, breaking into cinema is no easy feat. Actress Disha Patani, now a national sensation admired for her beauty and screen presence, is one such example of perseverance.

In a recent revelation, Disha shared that she stepped into Mumbai with only Rs 500 in her pocket.

“I’ve always lived independently. I earned my own money and never asked my family for financial help. When I moved from Indore to Mumbai, I had just Rs 500 with me. At one point, I ran out of money completely. I used to attend auditions every single day, mostly for TV commercials, because I knew if I didn’t land something within a month, I wouldn’t even have rent money. That pressure was constant,” she said.

Disha started her career in modeling before transitioning to acting. She explained that the need to earn quickly is what initially led her to focus on TV ads.

Her big break came with the Telugu film Loafer, after which she began getting film offers more regularly. She later went on to work in several Bollywood and South Indian projects, including high-profile films like Kalki 2898 AD and Kanguva.

Although her role in Kalki was brief, Disha confirmed that her character will continue into Kalki Part 2, signaling a more significant role in the sequel.

Disha’s story is a reminder of how resilience and self-belief can help overcome even the toughest beginnings in a competitive industry.
