Birthday Special: Mohanlal’s Biography Mukharagam Announced

Legendary Malayalam actor Mohanlal celebrated his 65th birthday on Wednesday, receiving heartfelt wishes from fans across the globe. On this special occasion, the superstar surprised everyone with a major announcement—his biography Mukharagam is on the way.

Currently celebrating his birthday with family in Thailand, Mohanlal revealed that a book chronicling his life journey will be released soon. Titled Mukharagam, the biography is authored by Bhanu Prakash and will be published by Mathrubhumi Books.

The book is set to release on Christmas Day, 2025, marking exactly 47 years since Mohanlal’s debut in the film industry. Sharing a video message, Mohanlal said:

“Dear friends, I am delighted to share a wonderful piece of news with you on my birthday. My biography Mukharagam, written by Bhanu Prakash and published by Mathrubhumi Books, will be released soon. The foreword has been written by one of Malayalam literature’s most cherished writers, M.T. Vasudevan Nair.”

He added that the book would delve into various phases of his 47-year-long cinematic journey, fulfilling a long-standing dream of many.

“This book captures the different stages of my 47-year acting career. It’s a dream many have held onto for years, and now it's finally coming true,” said Mohanlal.

According to reports, Mukharagam won’t just focus on Mohanlal as an actor—it will also explore his life as a producer, entrepreneur, Lieutenant Colonel in the Indian Army, and more, offering readers a comprehensive view of the man behind the legend.

The year 2025 is already shaping up to be monumental for Mohanlal. His recent releases L2: Empuraan and Thudakkam have been major successes, both at the box office and with critics. He recently wrapped up shooting for Hridayapoorvam, directed by Sathyan Anthikad. The film features a stellar cast including Malavika Mohanan, Sangeetha Madhavan Nair, Sangeeth Prathap, Siddique, Sabitha Anand, Baburaj, Nishan, and Lalu Alex in key supporting roles.
