The Malayalam star Dileep has been acquitted in the sexual assault case. The Kerala court pronounced the verdict today at 11 AM in the 2017 actress abduction and assault case. The judge stated that the prosecution failed to prove the 120B conspiracy charge against Dileep.
In the 2017 sexual assault case on a prominent actress, actor Dileep — who was the 8th accused — has been declared innocent by Ernakulam Principal Sessions Judge Honey M Varghese. In this case, the court convicted the first six accused along with Pulsar Suni as the main offenders.

The case involved the kidnap and assault of a popular actress who worked in Malayalam, Tamil, and Telugu films. On the night of February 17, 2017, a group of men forcibly kidnapped the actress and assaulted her inside a car for nearly two hours. They recorded the assault on their phones with the intention of blackmailing her.
In this case, the police arrested Dileep along with ten others, who were later released on bail.
