Following the success of Taare Zameen Par, Bollywood’s “Mr. Perfectionist” Aamir Khan was recently rumored to be working on a new crime thriller based on the sensational Meghalaya Honeymoon Murder Case. Reports had claimed that Aamir was interested in adapting the real-life incident—where newlywed Raja Raghuvanshi was murdered and his wife Sonam was named a prime suspect—into a film, and that he was closely studying the case details.
However, Aamir Khan's team has now officially denied these reports. They clarified that Aamir is not developing or planning any film based on the Meghalaya murder case. The news circulating in media circles is completely baseless and untrue, the statement said.
Meanwhile, Aamir Khan remains busy with multiple projects under his production banner. He is currently producing Ek Din, a film featuring his son, and is also collaborating with Tamil director Lokesh Kanagaraj on a superhero film expected to begin shooting in the second half of 2026. Additionally, Aamir continues to develop his long-cherished dream project based on the Mahabharata.
